We have contracts with National Name brand manufacturers to buy their factories damaged goods. Occasionally in the shipping process they'll bump or drag one and it will rub through the plastic. When dealers notice this they send the goods back to the factory.
Most of our mattress sets will have a slight rub mark or scuff, something like that, very minor, very superficial damage. Nothing structural. Cosmetic only.

It takes a tremendous amount of time and manpower to sort through goods returned on manufacturers' trucks and even more time and manpower to determine the extent of the damage. It is often more economically efficient to sell these goods to someone like us and let us spend our time to determine what is serviceable and saleable.

As is means that there is no factory or extended warranty of any kind and you buy your mattress with the defects known to you. The Bed Company guarantees that upon delivery, those defects will be only cosmetic in nature and not structural. Because of this you can buy your mattress set for approximately 1/4 - 1/3 most store's sale price.

Generally, the tighter the quilting pattern, the firmer the mattress. Manufacturers do not make a soft or firm spring. In example a given coil count mattress will have the same spring system throughout all of the firmnesses. The firmness is regulated by the amount and type of foam, and the quilting pattern.
From firmest to softest, Sealy and Stearns and Foster standard line mattresses are available in firm, cushion-firm, plush, ultra-plush, pillow top, and box top. The Euro Top line is available in firm, cushion-firm, plush, and ultra-plush.

Comfort is very subjective. It is different for every person. Most back experts recommend that you sleep on the firmest mattress that is comfortable to you.

The names on most manufacturer's labels other than the brand and the firmness on the labels (such as Night Delight) are meaningless. You can buy the same mattress in several different stores with a different cover and a different name on the labels.

What is the difference between box springs and foundations?
Foundations do not have springs. Foundations are actually better for mattresses than a box spring. Generally on a King Size mattress one person sleeps on one side and another person sleeps on the other. The box springs give under them. However, because the box springs are two pieces (to make it easier to get into your house) they are more ridged where they meet in the middle. This eventually causes a ridge down the middle and a trough on either side of your mattress. Foundations are also in two pieces but are solid (no springs) so they offer the same support throughout the entire surface of the mattress and help prevent the ridge/trough problem associated with King Size mattresses. These problems are also prevelant in queen size mattresses as well with the exception of the ridge down the middle. The queen tends to just sag in the middle. Our Custom Foundations are Built to Our Specifications and Engineered For Quality Mattresses to Ensure Long Life and Excellent Support For Your Mattress and are Covered with the Finest Damask Fabric. Our Foundations Have a Lifetime Warranty.
What is the difference between Residential and Business Shipping and Terminal Pick Up?
Business shipping and Terminal Pick Up are generally the same cost. Obviously for business shipping the carrier delivers to your place of business. A business is defined by the trucking companies as: "A commercial location, open to the public regular business hours, daily". A "residential business" does not qualify. Terminal pick up is when the customer picks up their item at the local trucking terminal. For residential shipping the carrier will deliver to your residence but this usually costs between $30 and $80 more depending on the location.
What can I expect from the trucking companies?
For business delivery or terminal pick up the trucking company will not call to schedule delivery or pick up. This is one of the reasons that it is less expensive than residential delivery. For residential delivery the trucking company will call to schedule delivery but will only deliver "curbside". Please have some help on hand to carry your item inside. INSPECT YOUR ITEM BEFORE YOU SIGN FOR IT AND THE DRIVER LEAVES. Refuse to sign for the delivery if the driver will not wait. Once the delivery is signed for, it is too late to file a claim for freight damages. Freight damages are the responsibility of the freight company.
Who is responsible for freight charges
All freight charges are the responsibility of the customer. We will act as your "agent" with regard to the shipping process. We will arrange the shipping and box your purchase(s).
You are also welcome to arrange for shipping. Just let us know when your shipper would like to pick up your items.
